Beyond Frames: The Unquiet Horror of `Silent North' is Unleashed, Early Access Alpha Debuts on Meta Quest & SteamVR

Players are invited to take their first steps into Swiss Alps survival during the game's ongoing development

STOCKHOLM and VENICE, FL, April 8, 2025 - It's the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere, and while that may bring a thaw to some areas and fresh flowers to others, the Swiss Alps are experiencing their own kind of rejuvenation: the kind that involves human flesh. Silent North, the next game of survival from Combat Waffle Studios, best known for the critically acclaimed Ghosts of Tabor, Silent North has unleashed its hordes of Infected onto unsuspecting players through its alpha Early Access release today on the Meta Horizon Store and SteamVR.

"Silent North is about open-ended survival. It's a slow-burning sandbox where anything can happen-friendships, betrayals, or adventures emerging organically from a vast, persistent world," said Scott Albright, CEO and founder of Combat Waffle Studios. Silent North is a PvPvE experience available exclusively in VR that challenges players to survive in a world populated by environmental hazards, hostile Infected, and fellow players whose trust is tied directly to your value. Whether choosing to go solo or form alliances, survival hinges on scavenging essential supplies from abandoned villages and confronting relentless threats.

The game's early access alpha release follows the formula the studio first established with Ghosts of Tabor, and has since continued with the early access alpha of GRIM - the game of martian survival created by Spoonfed Interactive - earlier this year.

A GRIM ANNOUNCEMENT

In addition to today's early access alpha launch of SIlent North, Combat Waffle Studios and Beyond Frames Entertainment have released an update to GRIM that advances the game from alpha to beta thanks to a number of stability and quality of life improvements, as well as tweaks and additions based on community feedback. Most notable of these are the addition of a tutorial for new players, and change in wipe frequency from weekly to monthly.
