Beyond Frames Announces Strategic Adjustment to Strengthen Long-Term Positioning
Today, the Board and management of Beyond Frames Entertainment announced a strategic reprioritization of its operations, targeting annual cost savings of approximately 23-27 MSEK. Coinciding with the completion of production on its flagship game, Beyond Frames has proposed a reorganization to adapt to current market conditions, aligning with evolving market dynamics in the games and XR industries.
“We are adapting Beyond Frames to current market conditions while positioning the company for broader, long-term opportunity within the video game and XR industries,” says Ace St. Germain, CEO of Beyond Frames Entertainment.
The development of Beyond Frames’ flagship game is nearing completion and is scheduled to ship in Spring 2026. While the company has several prototypes in early development, these new projects have not yet secured funding and do not require additional development staff at this time. As such, the company proposes a new organizational structure that, if implemented, is expected to generate annual cost savings of approximately 23-27 MSEK in operating expenses, with limited one-off costs primarily related to advisory and process expenses. Savings are expected to begin impacting the cost base from June 2026. The proposed new organizational structure is estimated to be in place during May 2026, subject to concluded negotiations.
Moving forward, the company will use cash flow generated from its game portfolio to drive 2 main strategic initiatives:
The company intends to expand its future project pipeline beyond VR gaming to include projects targeted for PC and console distribution. With the knowledge, reputation, and tools built over 10 years, the company will focus on adapting and implementing well-known IP and franchises into engaging entertainment products that fans love, aiming to achieve broader reach.
The company also intends to increase its focus on research and development initiatives in smart-glasses software, including collaborations with major platform owners. The company views developments in smart glasses as a natural evolution within the broader XR ecosystem and a long-term growth area.
There is already momentum behind these initiatives, as Beyond Frames and Cortopia are in advanced discussions with potential IP holders and publishing partners regarding future productions, as well as with platform holders for new, undisclosed hardware. Should agreements be reached during the negotiation period or any subsequent notice periods, the final scope of the proposed workforce reduction may be adjusted.
